It happened on the github.io version and a local version I hosted with python http.server. You can't create a new image on https://pixelcraft.web.app; the button isn't there.
Maybe a “view posts of this” button instead, linking to a search. Sometimes a lot of people post the same thing.
Have the same problem, surprised that Mesh (a 3d thing) works but will try it too
