I found definitions of fields at https://zenodo.org/records/1436853, this seems like a good basis for "supported-terms"?
The color picker is system specific (os x, windows, linux), I don't see supporting this.
Now, what we could add is an option to show existing colors you used (not in the picker), and let you choose one of those.
@mmkohler Can you please list, and perhaps screenshot, what metadata you added (i.e. what button were green on the Apply).

What is the sample ID you intend to use here, the UUID we generate for the collection object?
