Had the same issue, @eddyecho 's workaround works for me, as did running it manually from within vim, so yes, it seems to be an order/timing issue?

Also work is being done on it on the original project, which this one is a fork of: https://sourceforge.net/p/pam-python/tickets/5/ But it's quite slow as the last update on it was...
