I don't really want to go into arguments, but IMO any solution which goes against the supported Gradle model isn't a good choice. So I'd recommend doing what @chali suggested.

There is indeed an average image being saved, if you enable debug images. However, this average image will have the detected polynomial line overlay. I guess we need something without.
