Multi-selecting assets from the library actually did exist, in 2.0 if you held shift you could do that. Edit: sprites too

It's because of "scratch.mit.edu/get_image" which was intentionally blocked (which is also blocked in project descriptions now it seems like), not a Scratch Addons thing.
