The damage is already done for old files, you'll have to remove the 0-size files and re-download them. The issue shouldn't happen for new files in the latest Nicotine+ though,...

Did you find a solution/workaround? There isn't much we can do about this in Nicotine+.
Are you using the builds at https://nicotine-plus.org/doc/DOWNLOADS.html#macos or Homebrew? We're already using the native macOS file selector.
