Fess has lots of dependencies. To avoid a dependency conflict, a simple library is better.
To add new labels, you need to start a crawler, not reindexing on /admin/upgrade.
Yes. Labels are assigned at crawling time. To improve it, a option will be added in a future release...
[Incremental crawling](https://fess.codelibs.org/13.3/admin/general-guide.html#check-last-modified) does not update docs in the index. So, run Label Updater in [Scheduler](https://fess.codelibs.org/13.3/admin/scheduler-guide.html).
elasticsearch decides mappings automatically if you do not create a target index before reindexing.
I do not think that dataformat plugin supports it at the moment...
