Don't place your script in `.obsidian/Scripts/TaskMetadataTag.js`, place it in `Scripts/TaskMetadataTag.js`. With where your file is currently placed, it should say something like `meta-bind | ButtonMDRC >> error while running action...
I don't see this happening any time soon, as the logic for it would be quite complicated.

Should be fixed in the next version
Probably caused by the fact that the button template JSON is not validated on load, and the value field of the update metadata action must always be a string.
