You do understand that both .BAT and .CMD files use the CMD.exe command interpreter right?
Yes, those are two different command interpreters, it doesn't matter.
One scenario where this enhancement is valuable is in situations where users need to pass script blocks as arguments to sudo. `sudo -- ./script.ps1 --param1 value1 --param2 value2`.
This would be great as an add-on; not enabled by default.
