clang is the c compiler, clang++ is the c++ compiler. whilst clang/gcc can compile c++, they'll require you to manually link to libstdc++ and other stuff.

AdHoc isn't the same as making an AP. For creating an AP you would use [Hostapd](http://w1.fi/hostapd/)

Have you tried changing User Agents? Also, you should try changing the login path and host, they may have removed the old one.
