Nothing is planned yet. Doctrine cache config should probably cover the "issue" outside of the Bundle. What I was more thinking about was a way to configure a time interval...

A separate lib has the big advantage that non Symfony2 users might also contribute and use it. IMHO Bundles should be the thinnest possible glue between some library and Symfony2....
i still think it should be a separate lib. there are tons of people out there that have nothing to do that could also benefit from something that isn't as...
yes .. if this is done right .. it could get a lot of attention.
I think for now its fine to put it into the README. splitting things up should imho be done in a second step if necessary.

yes .. this is currently handled by the 2.0 branch which however is out of sync. more importantly it doesn't follow the conventions we defined here https://github.com/FriendsOfSymfony/friendsofsymfony.github.com/issues/27
