No icon displayed in GNOME dock

Open ChronoScrat opened this issue 9 months ago • 6 comments

What happened?

On GNOME, the application icon is displayed in the Application Overview in GNOME, but defaults to a broken icon when displayed in the dock. This is usually because the .desktop file is missing the StartupWMClass key.

What did you expect to happen instead?

If the key is included in the desktop file, the icon will display correctly, as will the name when hovering:

Local Environment:

  • DevPod Version: 0.6.15
  • Operating System: Linux
  • ARCH of the OS: AMD64

Thanks for raising @ChronoScrat, we are in the middle of migrating to flatpak and this should be resolved with that

Would love to keep it open for now, as I think it's still relevant. I continue to have this locally. Thanks!

This is very much still relevant, for reference - I think the issue might still be present in v0.7.0-alpha.34 as well.
