This now seems to be crashing the app no matter what on 2123.1, and it's currently unusable. It correctly sets the user folder, but it's trying to access something else...
It's a Samsung Tab S10+, and no, restarting didn't do anything

There is a server status for Xbox live as mentioned by @exalented: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status Though this link would have to change depending on the user's country.
