I think it would be best if someone stepped up to maintain the application, instead of looking for alternatives. (Yes, I know, me included). What would be a good name...

SoapBox implements this, if inspiration is needed as to how to do it. It works out of the box with Mastodon communities.

FYI A package exists for [Arch Linux](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mastodon) and [NixOS](https://search.nixos.org/packages?channel=22.11&show=mastodon&from=0&size=50&sort=relevance&type=packages&query=mastodon).

I realise a possible issue is that I was running it in a content script, not a service worker.

Is it possible or desirable to bundle the Tabby server into the VSCode extension for simple local usage?

Personally, I don't like how vague this rule is. Targeting the tools themselves doesn't seem to be productive -- as others have said, how often must this tool be used...
