Use of minimap2 for annotation of long amplicon sequences?

Hi,

I have long (4,500 bp) amplicon sequences of eukaryotic rrna operon, and was wondering would it be possible to annotate them taxonomically using minimap2 against a specific database, say NCBI nt?

if so, could you just describe in short steps to take? Also, should the db need to be formatted in specific way?
