The above is superseded by availability of the NASA [Unified Metadata Model](https://earthdata.nasa.gov/about/science-system-description/eosdis-components/common-metadata-repository/unified-metadata-model-umm) (UMM) standard. We should use UMM to model all of the product metadata.
