On phone. Using the GUI this way is what I refer to as "reconfigure". Tools on Linux an Mac are similar.
This bug was reported against OpenCPN 5.10.0 or earlier and there is no input in the 5.12 cycle. Could the OP (or someone else) please test the bug on 5.12...

I have updated the User Manual. Those docs was indeed really, really bad. No idea why, thanks for reporting. TL; DR correct installation command: `flatpak install --user flathub org.opencpn.OpenCPN`
