@KalobTaulien what browser are you using? I also tested this when merging and have tested again now and it worked for my on my phone and desktop browsers.

I think we may need to revert the change. Or explore an image that works on both. Maybe not a full background but more like a white glow that sits...
Update. Pypi does not use the readme.md file so the concern I had above is not valid. The issue for GitHub loading still exists though.
