Thanks for the contribution @sitefinitysteve, the reason why we took so long was because we didn't realize that the issue was simply that we should not be deleting the download...

@Bartinger We do that primarily to speed up deployments. As well, Bryan's suggestion in https://github.com/firebase/firebase-tools/issues/968#issuecomment-434766838 should work for you as well.

Reopening, and editing the subject to make it more clear that this issue is about the sample not handling multiple executions.

@theolof and @brianchirls if you have figured out an elegant solution for this, it would be great if you can share by making a PR.
