I noticed it happening few times but it seems to be an android bug. As I've got the same issue happen on another video app.

That's interesting. Have you try to enable Proxy Videos settings to see if that works? (need to restart the app)
Strange. If your server is not hosted in your country it should work with proxied videos. I'll need to double check if proxy is working as expected with dash.
