Hi Kelvine, thanks for reporting. One option to support older browsers is to use a shim / polly fill - but I'll add the the readme.
@wesdekoninck It is definitely a feature on the list for adding as soon as I get a chance. It doesn't exist right now (just some of the underpinnings).
What exactly fails? I would highly recommend you don't use that doctype. I can't think of any reason to not use the HTML 5 doctype.
