@dginev Thank you for your bug report. `alt` DOM attributes are important and should not and are not stripped out AFAIK. We need to understand now why they are not...

@dginev This is an old upstream bug https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T209277. Actually this ticket is a duplicate of old #164. We had closed #164 because the previous reporter was happy with the workaround......
I see no difference with the online wikipedia.org version.
@zkosk If you see a differrence with same article in wikipedia.org, please post both screenshots.mOtherwise I plan to close this ticket.

This feature is requested time to time. Probably we could scrape pictures in higher resolutions and let the user see the fullsize by clicking on a thumbnail. Not really a...
