Polymer Project is forewading like wildfire. We have [1.7 stable release](https://github.com/Polymer/polymer/releases/tag/v1.7.0) and they are thinking about [2.0](https://www.polymer-project.org/2.0/docs/about_20). So I think bower will be a good solution for Polymer version upgrades.
