I think praxis or subplex are suited for high dimension, maybe others work too
should be ok with 2.8.0
it sounds like a legit alignment issue, but I dont think I ever got that one when building nlopt on its own, ie outside of the r bindings
please provide a minimal script
at least provide something to reproduce, else we cannot help you
on what platform does it not work ? maybe we dont watn to force require pkgconfig anyways this should stay in findguile
libs should not print anything to stdout/stderr by default
it should be optional, with a callback mechanism or something
