Can you run dependency walker on the pyd modules?
From where is pyOpenMS installed? Or Self compiled?
What kind of "calls" from which plotting library cause the crashes? Edit: picture looks good of course

I agree! I think we should generally update the adapter (in case there were some other new parameters). @tillenglert which version are/were you using?
We just need to move the docstrings from the pxd to pyx and extend a little bit with the nice comments from this PR.
I would say don't use unsigned long since it is platform dependent. Just use our UInt64 typedef.

let's hope autowrap knows about typedefs and does not complain about maps with wrapped key+value
