I think not in `beamer`: perhaps a 'new `beamer`' might do that.

@samcarter It was to fix https://github.com/josephwright/beamer/issues/324, which I vaguely remember and I am reasonably sure was an issue at the time

There's nothing actually _wrong_ with it: I'm minded to leave alone

I suspect this was 'tidying up' some stray spaces in the code ...

BTW, introduced in current form more-or-less in 81ab64f50af7f528c369bdd044efef5d752d7749.
