are you using the latest version (1.2.2) of this package? there were [some changes](https://github.com/antonioribeiro/version/commit/c00d0b803faf8d66f70d70a7628e9b5b7fe5f367) to the absorb feature recently

This would also work. I added it as a flag because I did not want to include curl in the docker image.
