The CI failures appear to be related to outdated configuration of the requirements, which I did not change, not test breakage.

Using modern python3 versions (the 3.3 branch ended its official supported life on September 29, 2017), the tests pass.

Tell me the scenario. What steps are happening to have `ssh` rename the tabs? Do a screencast if you can to show what's happening.

My preference would be for the simplest API possible, so a caller doesn't need different behavior to change a module's attributes or a class's. That is, to have `curse()` check...
