The problem is the different versions of influx, i set the influx version in jmeter_influxdb_deploy.yaml the version to: influxdb:1.8.6 https://github.com/kubernauts/jmeter-kubernetes/blob/a481d707317d71d13cfa9ec16c22c20177c3cc27/jmeter_influxdb_deploy.yaml#L18

./dashboard.sh terminates with exit code 1

If i remember correct, the reason was a mismatch between different versions, play around with older versions of influx
