@stgolem This is an issue for Telegram Desktop on all platforms. Yes, you can create an alternative app for that.

You can enable debug logs permanently (until the next update) by typing "debugmode" in Settings. Then wait for the next update and look into "~/.local/share/TelegramDesktop/DebugLogs".

@tissole For a single file there is a JSON export. Message history can have hunderds of thousands of messages, it's not supposed to be shown in a single .html file.

Finally fixed by https://github.com/desktop-app/lib_ui/commit/3752e158e43a7aa8ca7641017de1abca01270fc6 So, this should be fine in the next version.

Is there an API to do that with a single .app with a single executable inside?

@ashishbinu Well, on the bright side the HDD space is freed if you cancel undesired download :)
