Its really a bad idea to use the parent. Why not allow an object of parameters to be parsed in during initialization?

I am running into the same issue. Not sure if it is technically possible tbh, but it would be great if so.

found the error. i didnt set up a database table for the logs. maybe you should emphasize this in the readme.
