What are you doing this on, I'm assuming a mac?
I don't have a mac to test it but i can try and figure it out later
Would you be able to post your current code and we can have a look at it?
I'd be open to considering this if we can get a confirmation that it doesn't cause any issues for the more widely used use case which is < 256 LEDs....
Something else seems amiss as the GUI looks very off. I've not tried running it before on a mac so I can't offer any help but have you made sure...

I'm not 100% sure that is possible, but I'm not super knowledgeable on the pi. Maybe someone might be able to chime in on this?
@jrafferty15 have you tried @singhkpratham 's solution of running it under sudo? If so did that work for you?
You can just create a start.bat that runs `py visualization.py`? Is that what you're asking?
You should be able to put it anywhere and it should run like any other python file once you install the right dependencies.
