Looks like my own question was answered on SourceForge - there are still issues with the Mac packages: https://sourceforge.net/p/pysolfc/bugs/59/ And they're still using an older Python version (see issue #322).

I added an FAQ page to the main website, with this issue being the first item in it. Closing now.

Resolved with the new PyInstaller release. This has been configured in commit 1623454091e9a8aec77fe7dadad448b6f46bfd1b.
