Solitaire search field for "Playable preview" + one-key shortcut for opening "Playable preview" with the text cursor in this search field to quickly start searching
Let's say the user wants to find a solitaire by name:
-
He or she presses, for instance, the "F" key.
-
"Playble Preview" opens with the text cursor in the search field.
-
The user immediately starts typing.
-
The results could be presented nicely, for instance, in the column view.
This solitaire search field could also be used to look for alternate solitaire names as well as other info.
Thought I already commented on this one, but looks like I haven't.
A couple versions ago, I added a search option to the select game option, and also extended it to the cardsets and table tiles window. Using this, you can search by name or alternate name, and there is an advanced search button that will let you search by other criteria (game category, type, number of decks, PySol version introduced, etc.) This satisfies most of what was discussed in this ticket.
The only thing I haven't done is the one key shortcut. I think the easiest way to accomplish this would be to make the Search tab the default tab - I've tested, and if I do this, the text cursor starts in the search field. I'm just hesitant to do this because I don't know if users will object to the change. I could also add a different key shortcut that opens straight to this tab, but this takes a little more research, and I've got to be careful as the number of unused keyboard shortcuts is limited.
Might want to try and get user feedback on that.
