I pushed a relevant commit (5060713) to my fork, but I'm not sure if there's any point in making a pull request since I do not actually have exclusive mode...

[Windows] New REPL does not preserve history between sessions

In previous versions of python3, installing [pyreadline3](https://github.com/pyreadline3/pyreadline3/) added readline support to Windows, which enabled REPL history between sessions. This does not work in python 3.13.
