Daniel, Somehow you seem to be switching off names. If I execute cbc G3-bs-cbc.lp -solve -solution G3.sol then the first few lines of G3.sol are - Optimal - objective value...

Yes - I am not sure if it is documented anywhere but cat stein45.mps | cbc -- -solve works - but only for mps files

Updated ClpSimplex.cpp - hopefully fixes
