@dmitrykoval The behavior of `spherical` mode is very inconsistent among different engines. It is not an easy job to come up with a edge interpolation standard that makes everybody happy....

@wgtmac The JTS-parity on C++ side is GEOS, which is a C++ port of JTS: https://github.com/libgeos/geos Note that: GEOS is LGPL 2.1, which is NOT compatible with ASF

@Imbruced I will merge this for now but the doc needs significant improvement. I believe we need some comprehensive end-to-end examples of each Stat function
