Could you please check if the Rack 1.6 issue has been resolved since your reporting it in May? Openshift 3.1 was released in early November, see https://blog.openshift.com/openshift-3-1-whats-new/ .

In addition, there was a report in June of a manual update of Rack to 1.6 (with Rails 4.2) at http://www.gerardcondon.com/blog/2015/06/15/upgrading-to-rails-4-dot-2-on-openshift/ , based on others discussing on a Phusion Passenger Google Group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/phusion-passenger/BLf0FDyhFAM .

(I'm not a Ruby expert, but have implemented some other applications on OpenShift). Thanks.

I'm currently not too motivated to allocate time to this, I don't use it myself so it's always extra effort to set it up again. However I'm happy to act as a maintainer here and coordinate contributions of people actually using it.

I don't see any explicit mention of Rack or Rails in the blog posts. I haven't seen a contribution adding a possible workaround that made me confident that it indeed works either.
