If you're interested in getting merge rights drop a note on thread with a way to contact you or enough to verify you'd be a reasonable caretaker.

My expectation would be that slices which have transparency would allow for the background to show through. A bit of toying around with it suggests that maybe isn't the case....

Currently direct updates on .height/.width will cause traditional scaling instead of 9slice scaling. Ideally changing size like that would be supported behavior.
