I guess you are using TestNG, which currently does not support well for inherited tests. JUnit should be fine though.

I didn't look deep into this issue, but I guess this comes from JUnit 5 itself. If you look at the behavior in Eclipse/intelliJ, they both display the instance name:...

Hi @mweirauch, Is this issue still occur? From the upstream issue, seems that the VS Code team did some changes regarding to the symlink.
