Should we start the initiative to fix the template at the source and then proceed to enforce the correct syntax in JSON schema?

@barmac doesn't it defy the point of validation, if we still need to fix such issues in the engine?
It seems we already do detect and overwrite such values, we just didn't do it everywhere.
