Taking a look at the mailchimp-widget.php file here it says: Version: 0.7.1

Yet, in recent days the released version is 0.8.9, which probably means this is massively outdated.

Please advise.

Yeah, the version from Wordpress.org is the correct one. I haven't been doing a very good job of maintaining it here as well. I'll try to remember to.push to hugging also tonight.

would be great if this happened. I just tried to fork / pull request the widget to fix up the markup pointed out elsewhere. Awkward because its not uptodate on github. Its a great widget. Worth maintaining it.
