This is intentional and not related to EC firmware, as it only bridges traffic between the touchpad and CPU
Solved by https://github.com/system76/ec/commit/ed0e662d60dfb19951cca8384326eca5fc117fbc Charging current was halved. System charges at 30W instead of the previous 60W and should not heat up as much while charging.
There is some glitching due to the electrical design. This commit takes care of that: https://github.com/system76/ec/pull/121/commits/954082178a093e46b62e7889747b42671801a6d0
lemp10 has the above firmware fix applied
The only place where LPC is accessible on the galp4 motherboard is where the IT8587E is soldered. It would have to be removed and replaced with a pin compatible replacement....
Is this specific to Launch or does it also happen on laptops?
