OK it seems the issue is from using the composer's docker image. When using for example composer.phar inside a container with PHP the problem is gone.

Do you have `skip_full_destinations: true`? I see that your destinations are only 10% full but who knows, maybe some sort of a bug. Try to set it to false.

Honestly, I would just add the solid rectangle (with the preferred colour) to multiple files myself once and forget it, instead of using some fancy tool that overwrites the jpg...

Go to the Applications folder, right-click the app and select Open?
