I can reproduce this error if there are two files in the remote directory with the same name. Google Drive allows this, but it obviously leads to bad behaviour when...

Grive2 is downloading files from drive when it shouldn't

Of course, now that I try and force it, it doesn't replicate! But I did find that renaming the files stopped the behaviour.
