It seems there is a known issue with tar-fs in that it does not set windows directory permissions correctly. Compressing a Windows filesystem and then decompressing on Linux creates directories...

Preserve hostname specified with --api in http request headers

System resolves hostname to ip address which is no use for a reverse proxy (or kubernetes ingress) which may want to route the request to a service using the hostname....

Don't convert the host name specified with --api=/dns4/<domain>/ into an IP address (thus making life easy for reverse proxy)
