I would also prefer if `pid_t` were `long`, but IIRC newlib set it as `int`. Looking into a fix.

@MrMarteng - we are one PR to the zephyr-sdk away. The change that adds C++ threads support was unfortunately reverted as there were a couple of gaps in testing, but...

Thrift docs have a minor update in https://github.com/zephyrproject-rtos/zephyr/pull/74557 There is a version upgrade, but I would rather save that until after 3.7
