@fragtion Something else to consider: ".stfolder" is a directory now, so something like ".stfolder/temp-files" seems like a natural alternative location for temp files.
Might be the same issue or related to https://forum.syncthing.net/t/file-watcher-on-windows-sometimes-stops-working-for-specific-folders/17194 I intend to look into it but don't have much time at the moment.
This issue isn't about the top level directory/folder root path though, but about one inside.
Already happening in #6848 (which is waiting way too long for a (re-)review, sorry).
