@james-fry can't you just put the image file at the location it is looking with the correct species name?

@tringler the default will be switched to Lovelace in the next few releases, I believe, but the old UI is not going away that soon.

I don't see how this would fall within the realm of the button-card. It sounds like you're wanting an element for input_select, more so, which could be a nice addition...

Markdown card supports templating now. I think that would be a good option for you to use
