Possibility to hide cursor automatically

I think it would be nice to add the possibility to hide the mouse cursor automatically after some time. If this is already possible, could someone show me how?

One thing I miss a bit is a scratchpad like sway has. Is something like this planned or wanted? If not planned, I offer myself to give it a try...
